One man was charged after Burlington City Hall was placed under a hold and secure yesterday.
A City of Burlington staff member received a telephone call from an upset man who threatened to physically harm city employees, Halton Regional Police said.
The call came in at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, police said. Shortly after, City Hall was shut down as a precaution, police added. Employees were sent home.
Police said they made an arrest in connection with the incident just after 8 p.m.
The hold and secure was lifted Wednesday night and City Hall reopened on Thursday morning, according to a post from the city.
A 37-year-old male resident of Burlington is charged with one count of uttering threats to cause death.
Police did not name the man.
The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
