Two cars and a city bus were involved in a collision in Mississauga this evening, briefly shutting down a major street.

The three vehicles collided around 5:15 p.m. on Derry Rd W and Maritz Dr. Maritz turns into Derrycrest across the road, home to a large Chartwell Retirement community.

Peel Regional Police report paramedics were assessing only one injured person at the time of their announcement. They released no comment on the conditions of people in the other car or on the bus.

Due to the crash two of the three west bound lanes on Derry Rd were briefly shut down. However police noted shortly before 6 p.m. that the lanes had reopened.
