The big top goes up in Brampton tomorrow as the Royal Canadian Circus kicks off a five-day run at Shoppers World, bringing aerial acrobatics, motorcycle stunts and family entertainment to the city.
The all-new 2026 production will be at Shoppers World Brampton, 499 Main Street South, from July 9 to 13 as part of the circus’s cross-Canada tour, which features more than 100 performances in communities across the country.
Audiences can expect a fast-paced show featuring Mongolian acrobats, flying trapeze artists, illusionists, unicycle performers, a high-octane motorcycle stunt team and a traditional circus clown, all performing beneath the circus’s signature big-top tent.
The production combines classic circus acts with modern lighting, sound and visual effects inside a 360-degree performance arena designed to give spectators an unobstructed view of the action.
Organizers say this year’s show is designed to entertain all ages by blending traditional circus performances with contemporary staging and storytelling, creating an experience families can enjoy together.
Unlike many circuses of decades past, the Royal Canadian Circus is entirely animal-free, focusing instead on the athleticism, precision and artistry of its international cast of performers.
The touring production has become a familiar summer attraction in Ontario and across Canada, stopping at shopping centres and outdoor venues with a roster of performers from renowned circus families around the world. Ringmaster Joseph Dominik Bauer, for example, comes from a family with generations of circus heritage and has performed internationally throughout his career.
The Royal Canadian Circus continues a growing trend among modern circus productions, replacing animal acts with gravity-defying aerial performances, acrobatics and theatrical presentations that showcase human talent.
Multiple performances are scheduled throughout the Brampton engagement, giving families several opportunities to catch the show before it moves on to its next stop.
General admission tickets start at $35, with premium and ringside seating also available. Children three and under are admitted free when sitting on an adult’s lap.
