CIBC launches new rewards program for front-line health care workers

A major Canadian bank is implementing a new program to thank front-line health care workers for everything they’ve done for Canadians amid the pandemic.
As part of the Holidays for Heroes program, CIBC is providing health care workers with 30 million Aventura points to give these tireless workers a well-deserved break to recharge and reconnect with family.
“As we mark National Nursing Week this week, it’s timely to reflect on the role health care workers are playing in our society today. No one will need a physical and mental break when we emerge from this pandemic more than our frontline health care workers,” Victor Dodig, president and CEO of CIBC, said in a news release.
“Since the beginning of this pandemic, our communities have relied heavily on their strength and courage, and our new Holidays for Heroes program is one way to show our appreciation for all they’ve done for us,” he continued.
The program is encouraging Canadians to nominate a front-line health care worker who has made a difference in keeping them or a member of their family safe during these stressful times.
CIBC will then be providing Aventura travel rewards to nominated individuals chosen at random, who will be able to use the points to take a holiday at a future date, reconnect with their families, and re-energize themselves.

Nominations are open to all Canadians and can be made online.
“The Holidays for Heroes program is one way we can show our deep appreciation for the sacrifices our frontline health care workers have made for Canadians, by giving them the opportunity to rest and recharge with their families,” Dodig said.
“The holidays these heroes take are also one small way of supporting local businesses when economies can safely reopen,” he added.
Additionally, CIBC is establishing the CIBC Future Heroes Fund Bursary Program, which will help the next generation of health care workers achieve their goal of a career in health care.
The program will provide 200 bursaries valued at $2,500 each, to first-year students enrolling in a range of health care programs at targeted post-secondary institutions across the country.
