Christmas lights recalled for shocking hazard in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Halton, Durham, Niagara

Christmas lights that are a shocking hazard are being recalled in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Halton, Durham, Niagara and across Canada.

Health Canada has issued a recall for H for Happy brand 50- Count LED Basic Christmas String Lights in White.

The affected products have a total length of 12.8ft, or 3.9 metres, with a UPC code on the box of 4 44250 05413 8. The model number displayed on the box is WH22-57432-LIT, with model KDT-50/1F-B-065 on the white tag attached to the wire.

Health Canada says the decorative lighting strings could pose an electric shock hazard, and consumers should stop using the product right away. The affected products were sold from October to November by Bed Bath and Beyond Canada LP, and the company reported 44 units were sold in Canada.

“Immediately stop using the recalled decorative lighting strings and return it to any Bed Bath & Beyond location for a refund,” Health Canada said in an alert.
