An Oshawa man faces child porography charges after a police raid at his Malaga Road home.

The Durham Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) launched an investigation into a man sharing child pornography online in March. After a months long investigation, ICE and the Forensic Identification Service (FIS) raided a residence  in south Oshawa early in the morning of May 24.

During the raid, police seized 17  devices and arrested Randall MacNevin, 61, on charges of possession of child pornography and making child pornography available.

ICE offers numerous supports for victims of exploitation on their website. Investigators wished to “acknowledge the assistance of the Canadian National and Ontario Provincial Strategies to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet,” a project made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.

Anyone with information pertinent to the investigation can call D/Cst. Pogson at 905-579-1520 x 5544 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
