Child pornography charges filed against Thorold man

A man from Thorold faces multiple charges in connection to a child pornography investigation.
Niagara Region Police got a tip from a reporting service that gathers information about the online sexual exploitation of children earlier in the month.
Detectives with the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit launched an investigation. William Russell Dorey, 44, was later arrested for breach of a release order on November 16.
During the course of their investigation, police claim they uncovered additional evidence against Dorey. They then charged him with making child pornography and making child pornography available.
He will remain in custody until a bail hearing on November 24.
