A young child was rushed to hospital in critical condition after reportedly being pulled from a backyard swimming pool late Tuesday morning in Mississauga’s west end.

Peel Paramedics told INsauga.com the child was taken from the area of Dundas Street West and Erin Mills Parkway to a local hospital in critical condition.

Paramedics did not say where, specifically, the child was found by first responders.

A number of police cars and ambulances were dispatched to the scene, reportedly a home just west of the major Mississauga intersection, at around 11:30 a.m., according to reports.

Additional information wasn’t immediately available and Peel Regional Police had yet to respond to an inquiry from INsauga.com.
