Child cyclist struck by vehicle in Brampton

A child in Brampton was rushed to the trauma centre at SickKids hospital in Toronto after being struck by a motorist in Friday night.
At 6:48 p.m., Peel Regional Police received a report about the collision in the area of Queen Mary and Deforest drives. The victim, who was under the age of 12, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The roadways fully reopened just after 10 p.m.
The driver of the car involved in the collision remained on the scene, as legally required under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
