Cheese, chicken burgers, children’s clothes recalled from Mississauga and Brampton stores

Health Canada reports that multiple products have been recalled from stores in Ontario this week (Nov. 29 to Dec. 5) due to potential health and safety risks, including stores in Mississauga and Brampton.

Residents are advised to check if they have these products at home and avoid using or consuming them out of caution.

The following products are affected:


Great Lakes Goat Dairy brand Herb & Garlic Goat Cheese and Aged Cheddar Goat Cheese

Aged Cheddar Goat Cheese, 175 g - front

Risk: Possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick with symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.

What you should do: Recalled food products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased. If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor.


Great Value brand Chicken Burgers

Great Value - Chicken Burgers - 904 g (8 x 113 g)

Risk: The product may contain egg which is not declared on the label.

What you should do: Those with an egg allergy should check if the product can be returned to the store it was purchased from.


Konges Sløjd knit mittens and knit boots

MIRO KNIT MITTENS

Risk: The mittens and boots have pompom accessories that are accessible to infants, posing a choking and suffocation hazard.

What you should do: Consumers should immediately cut and remove the cord with the attached pompom to eliminate the hazard.

Risk: The powerbank’s lithium-ion battery can overheat and ignite, posing fire and burn hazards. As of November 19, 2021, the company has received 1 report of property damage in Canada.

What you should do: Consumers should immediately stop using the affected products and contact myCharge to arrange for a refund and the return of the powerbank.
