Charges laid in Caledon crash that killed teen basketball player

One person has been charged in connection with a crash that killed a Caledon teen.

The two-vehicle crash on Charleston Sideroad near Shaws Creek Road claimed the life of Caledon resident Milo Yekmalian, 18, just before 8 p.m. on May 17.

Yekmalian was a member of the Halton Basketball Club and his former coaches and the community posted on Facebook offering condolences after the collision.

OPP announced on Aug. 29 that they charged Toronto resident Tomislav Roki, 67, with careless driving cause death, under the Highway Traffic Act.

Roki is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Caledon East on Oct. 12.
