A new storefront display confirms that downtown Hamilton cannabis users will soon have another walkable shopping option.

Odyssey Cannabis has put an “opening soon” sign in the windows on the ground floor at 22 Tisdale St. S., just off of Main Street East. The store will be right across from a shopping plaza that is anchored by the Giorgio’s No Frills grocery store.

“We’ve made it our mission to ensure that everyone in our local communities can safely access cannabis products and weed accessories, in a friendly environment where they’ll never feel judged for their choices,” reads a business bio at dispenariesnearme.ca. “We love all things cannabis, and no matter what you’re looking for, we’ll be glad to give you some guidance.”

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario’s website (agco.ca), which grants retail cannabis store licences, also shows that Odyssey is authorized to open.

The unit was previously the local constituency office of Hamilton Centre member of Parliament Matthew Green. The New Democratic Party parliamentarian’s office has moved a couple blocks east, to 630 Main St. E.
