Celebrate mom at Mississauga restaurants

On any normal Mother’s Day, you might take your mom out for brunch, afternoon tea or dinner, but the upcoming holiday (which falls on May 9, 2021) will be anything but normal.
For the second year in a row, Mother’s Day — held annually to celebrate mothers (and other mothering figures) across the country — will be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and related public health measures. This year, indoor dining is prohibited and residents are not allowed to host or attend indoor gatherings with anyone outside of their household (although single parents and people who live alone are permitted to join one other household).
That said, you can still treat your mom to a delicious takeout meal from a Mississauga restaurant.
Here are some Mississauga restaurants offering a Mother’s Day special this year.
Capra’s Kitchen

Celebrity chef Massimo Capra has prepared a special take-out menu made with moms in mind. The Mother’s Day menu, which includes salad, rigatoni sausage al forno, chicken marsala and an apple pie, serves four people and costs $160.
Add a Mimosa Kit (bottle of Prosecco with Orange Juice) to make this Mothers Day Extra Special for an additional $30
All orders must be placed by Thursday, May 7, at 6 p.m. Pickups are available Sunday at noon, 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 7 p.m.

Michael’s Back Door Restaurant
Michael’s Back Door Restaurant, located at 1715 Lakeshore Road West, in Clarkson, has a special Mother’s Day three-course Prix Fixe takeout menu for $46 per person.
You can choose from four starters – tomato spinach soup, arancini, ricotta or insalatta alla Cesare – four mains – capellini, sauteed rainbow trout, seared pork medallions or roasted chicken supreme – and two desserts – limoncello tiramisu or orange pound cake.

Rogue’s
Rogue’s Restaurant, located at 1900 Dundas St. W., has an extensive Mother’s Day menu, offering many of their favourite dishes, including risotto, ravioli, stuffed Cornish hen, beef short ribs and a Mother’s Day dessert box.
They have extended their hours for Mother’s Day, from noon to 8 p.m. For pickup or delivery.

Alioli Ristorante
Located at 350 Burnhamthorpe Rd. W., Alioli is an Italian fine dining restaurant with a particular affinity for seafood. They are offering five special dishes for Mother’s Day takeout or delivery.
Ranging in price from $26 to $54, the special menu includes a lobster-stuffed pasta, buratta and prosciutto, grilled sea bream, seafood risotto, and surf and turf.

Casalinga Ristorante
Casalinga Ristorante is located at 2057 Royal Windsor Drive, Mississauga, and is offering a wide-ranging menu for Mother’s Day. They are asking patrons to order by Saturday, May 8, by visiting the website and clicking on the Mother’s Day menu. There is a choice of six appetizers, four salads, 10 pastas, 6 mains, pizza and several desserts.

Posta Italbar Cucina
The Posta Mother’s Day menu is available Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you preorder by Thursday, they’re even offering a deal on a half or full bottle of Prosecco, for that authentic touch. The menu includes salmon tartar, chicken liver parfait, mushroom risotto, surf and turf, Norwegian salmon and tiramasu or a berry meringue dessert.

Culinaria Restaurant
Located inside the Elliot House at 5732 Kennedy Rd., Culinaria has a wide array of Mother’s Day packages you can mix and match to design your own feast. In addition, there are several ready-to-pour cocktails and mocktails. The specials, available for pickup or delivery run Saturday and Sunday.

La Castile
La Castile Steak and Seafood restaurant, located at 2179 Dundas St. E., is offering a Mother’s Day menu of slow-roasted prime rib, Nutella tiramisu petite gateau and an empress gin and lychee martini.

Huevos Gourmet
The Mexican breakfast and brunch restaurant, located at 241 Lakeshore Rd East in Port Credit, will celebrate Mother’s Day with the option of adding a mousse cake to any order for $9.99, or a freshly baked gourmet cookie for $5.99. Additionally, the restaurant will be giving away a pretty carnation for the first 40 orders on Sunday.
