Celebrate grand opening of 14,000 square foot renovated library branch in Brampton

Brampton residents are invited to see all the changes at the newly-renovated South Fletcher’s Branch Library at a grand-opening celebration on Tuesday.

The city says the renovation was a complete “floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall” revamp of the 14,000 square foot library branch which first opened in 1996.

With updated spaces for programming, the branch features more natural light from new exterior windows and interior glass walls, spacious browsing and comfortable open-concept seating areas.

The library has also added two large rooms for programs and study, a creative room, two small meeting rooms, a youth room, and a room for community partners including Library Settlement Partnership staff.

“With separate areas for different uses, the Library is satisfying the need for both quiet and collaborative space,” said Brampton Library CEO Todd Kyle.

The renovated branch officially opened in March, but will host a ribbon cutting on Tuesday with the city inviting residents to see all the new South Fletcher’s has in store.

The event will run on May 5 at 11 a.m., with activities continuing throughout the day until closing at 9 p.m.

You can visit the newly updated South Fletcher’s Branch Library branch at 500 Ray Lawson Blvd., at the corner of Ray Lawson Blvd. and McLaughlin Road in the Susan Fennell Sportsplex.
