Police have released footage of the aftermath of a collision in which a vehicle caught fire in Mississauga.
The incident was reported around 12:00 p.m. Wednesday (February 6) and took place on westbound Highway 401 just after Winston Churchill Boulevard.
According to OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, a vehicle lost control on the road, collided with a barrier and then with a transport truck, and caught on fire.
Schmidt attributes the cause of the incident to poor driving conditions, noting the amount of snow and slush on the roadway.
Paramedics and Mississauga Fire responded to the scene.
“The driver is okay,” Schmidt reports.
Extensive traffic delays caused by the incident have since been cleared up.
