Carjacking foiled by random stranger in Brampton

Gas prices going down in Mississauga

Peel Regional Police have arrested a man following an attempted carjacking at a gas station in Brampton this morning, where a bystander intervened and held the suspect until the arrival of officers.

On Sunday (Apr. 9) shortly after 8:40 a.m., police responded to an attempted car theft at a gas station near Steeles Ave W/Mississauga Rd in Brampton.

Police say the suspect allegedly approached a victim at the gas station and was armed with a weapon.

A bystander nearby interjected and held the suspect until police arrived and took the man into custody.

Officers say the suspect sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

No information on the identity of the suspect in question or the good Smartian has been released by the PRP.
