Mississauga carjacking arrests.

Two Belleville men have been charged in a Mississauga carjacking that took place last October.

Central Robbery Bureau investigators with Peel Regional Police say charges were laid this week in connection with the Oct. 19, 2023 carjacking in which the victim was confronted by two men as he stepped out of his parked vehicle at a Malton plaza.

According to police, the man had just parked his car at the Derry Road East/Goreway Drive plaza at about 5:40 p.m. when a pair of culprits targeted him and his vehicle.

As the man got out of his car, two men approached him and demanded the car keys, police said. The culprits then “forcefully removed the vehicle keys from the victim’s pocket.”

The men then sped away in the vehicle.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries, according to police.

Three days later, Belleville Police spotted the stolen vehicle in that eastern Ontario city and arrested two men. Possession of property obtained by crime charges were subsequently laid at the time, police said.

Robbery investigators with Peel police looking into the initial carjacking, meanwhile, continued their work on the case and earlier this week laid charges.

Nicholas Goulet, 24, and Brian Goodfellow, 25, both of Belleville, are charged with robbery.
