Emergency responders are on scene near the border of Mississauga and Toronto after a car was pinned under a transport truck.

According to the OPP, a transport truck and a passenger car collided on Hwy. 401 just past the Renforth Dr. exit near Pearson Airport.

The car has been pinned under the truck’s trailer. Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services, Toronto Fire, Peel Paramedics and Toronto Paramedic Service are all one the scene, working to extricate an occupant trapped under the truck.

Toronto Fire confirmed one person had been removed from the car as of 7:40 p.m. However, they shared no identifying information about the person. The extent of their injuries remains unknown as yet.

The OPP Highway Safety Division is investigating the crash and has closed down the collector lanes on Hwy. 401 from Dixon Rd. to the east.

All eastbound traffic has been diverted to the parallel express lanes and is moving slowly due to the volume. Clean up is underway. However, the OPP expects the lanes to be closed until at least 10:30 p.m.
