Car crashes into two police cruisers as it flees traffic stop in Mississauga

A man is in custody after a driver crashed his vehicle into two Peel Regional Police cruisers while trying to flee a traffic stop in Mississauga’s west end this morning.
Peel police said via social media that the two police cars were struck when a vehicle attempted to speed away from a traffic stop at about 9:30 a.m. at Burnhamthorpe Road and Creditview Road.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital as a precaution, according to police.
Westbound Burnhamthorpe Road, between Creditview Road and Riverwood Park Lane, was closed to traffic for the investigation.
