Car crash knocks out power in Oakville for hours

A major power outage is affecting thousands of homes and businesses in Oakville this afternoon.
The area experiencing the outage is north of the QEW, south of Upper Middle Rd. and between Dorval Dr. and Eighth Line. However, Oakville Place reports the power at the mall is still on and they are open for business.
According to reports, the power was knocked out during a car crash in the area of Leighland Ave. and Pearson Dr. Vehicles involved in the collision damaged hydro equipment
Oakville Hydro expects the power to be restored by 4:30 p.m.
