Car caught fire following crash in Mississauga as impaired driver charged

Last night, OPP charged a Mississauga driver for impaired driving after a single vehicle crash that caused the car to burst into flames.

On Saturday (Apr. 1) 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m., police responded to a crash site near highway 401 in Mississauga.

Police say the car had caught fire following the collision.

Further investigations revealed that the driver was inexperienced and had a blood alcohol level above zero.

It is unknown if the driver was still inside the vehicle after the impact or if any injuries were sustained.

Police say they have charged the driver with a 90 day license suspension.

No other details from the incident have been reported.
