For the second time this summer, Brampton singer-songwriter Alessia Cara has Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati’s full attention.

Back on July 19, Cara did two live remotes on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, featuring Niagara Falls as her band’s backdrop.

Yesterday (August 31), she got even more location-specific this time, releasing a 40-minute YouTube video called  “Live from Niagara Falls”.

Diodati was beside himself with the musical release, as well as his city serving as the location.

“In this 40 minute production, Alessia Cara and Alex Narvaez discuss the importance of mental health, her personal journey to stardom and keeping one’s sense of youthfulness,” posted Diodati.

“Of course, Niagara’s delicious chewy chocolate chip cookies are featured as are multiple new recordings of her popular songs filmed in familiar Niagara Falls locations.”

Cara, who just turned 25 on July 11, was born Alessia Caracciolo before adopting the stage name Cara.

She is the only Canadian to win a Grammy for Best New Artist, a feat she accomplished in 2018.
