An expanding fast-casual burger chain opened the doors to its first location in Niagara Falls, right in Niagara Square.

South St. Burger, which has grown across Ontario and also made inroads in western Canada since its founding in 2005, had a grand opening on Wednesday (Jan. 26) at 7555 Montrose Rd., Unit D2. The chain is well-regarded for its custom burger creations, along with having over 30 toppings for its poutines, and savoury sides that include onion rings made with red unions. The chain has 35 locations in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia and its range of burger patties include vegan and vegetarian options, chicken breast, fried chicken and Halal beef.

“We’re very excited to bring our delicious, gourmet burgers, hand-cut fries, poutines, onion rings and hand-scooped milkshakes to Niagara Square!” Andrew Kay, the brand leader of South Street Burger, stated in a media release. “We’re eager to have our customers come build the burger of their dreams with a choice of over 30 gourmet burger toppings — the combinations are endless.”

The Niagara Square location is partnered with UberEats and DoorDash, according to South St. Burger’s website.

Prior to the new location opening, South St.’s closest location to Niagara Region was in Burlington (738 Burlaok Dr.). It also has locations in Mississauga (3021 Argentia Rd.), Oakville (485 Trafalgar Rd.) and Pickering (1105 Kingston Rd.).
