You can add mail delivery to the list of services cancelled today because of the snowfall, which could reach 40 centimetres when it’s all over.

Canada Post issued a Red Alert for the Greater Toronto, Southern Ontario and Eastern Ontario – as well as the entire Province of Quebec, meaning no mail or parcel delivery.

A statement from Canada Post said the “safety of our employees is our number one priority.” A red service alert means that delivery is suspended “as inclement weather and snow have made it unsafe.”

“Delivery will resume once it is deemed safe to do so.”
