Canada Day Hamilton 2026 July 1: What's Open and Closed

This year, Canada Day falls on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Hamilton will host a Canada Day celebration at Bayfront Park (200 Harbourfront Drive). Hosted by the city and Sonic Unyon, the event will feature live music, food trucks, a beer garden, bouncy castles, family activities, games and a fireworks display after sunset. Admission is free.

For those looking to celebrate with a bang, the Hamilton Fire Department recently reminded residents that fireworks are ONLY permitted on Victoria Day and Canada Day, between dusk and 11 p.m. Residents are advised to attend professional fireworks displays whenever possible.
