You can do more than just give thanks on Monday, you can actually help out others.

Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is holding at Thanksgiving Day blood donation drive at its Brant Street clinic, 1250 Brant St., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The demand for blood often increases during holidays, but often supply drops as people don’t always have time to make their regular donation.

CBS hopes this holiday Monday blood drive will ensure the supply so patient needs are always met.

Appointments are mandatory as safety measures don’t allow for walk-in donations. Residents are asked to keep their appointment if they make one, as filling empty spots on short notice is difficult. If you can’t make it, you’re asked to cancel and re-book.

For more information or to book an appointment, call 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283) or visit the CBS website.
