A Caledon man is $100,000 richer after picking six of seven winning numbers in a January Encore lotto draw.

Gia Quoc (Kevin) Nguyen says he’s a regular Encore player but was shocked when he discovered a ticket purchased at the Pik N Go Shoppe on Hurontario Street in Brampton was a winner.

“I was very surprised when I checked my ticket using the OLG App and realised I won big – I was screaming,” he said while picking up his cheque at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

The 38-year-old self-employed man told his family about his win right away and said they are very happy for him.

Nguyen said he plans to use the $100,000 pay day to take care of some bills, make some investments and share the wealth with family.

Encore offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1.00 with a prize draw every day.

OLG is booking in-person prize claim appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto and is encouraging winners with claims between $1,000 and $49,999.90 to submit their claims online or mail them.

Customers with prizes over $50,000 are asked to call 1-800-387-0098 to discuss available prize claim options.
