Police have charged a man from Bolton after he allegedly assaulted and harassed residents in Caledon earlier this month.

The Caledon OPP say officers were called about someone harassing individuals in the Caledon area just before 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Police say officers located and spoke with an individual but no charges were laid at that time.

But later that day at around 7:00 p.m., police say they received another call about the same person.

Police were prepared to charge the individual with assault, but officers were unable to locate the man.

Investigators now say a 40-year-old from Caledon was charged with assault on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Police have not released the name of the accused, and did not disclose any additional details regarding the alleged assault and harassment.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on Dec. 22.
