Freezing rain and winter storm conditions have led to a parking ban in Caledon until further notice.

All Caledon parking passes are “no longer valid” and Parking Enforcement Officers will be out ticketing and towing vehicles during the temporary ban, the Town of Caledon said in a statement.

The Region of Peel is expecting rainfall up to 20 mm on Wednesday and overnight, with freezing rain and snow possibly causing icy road conditions.

The Town has issued a weather warning due to winter storm conditions, possible flash freezing and freezing rain.

Residents and visitors should use extreme caution when using roads and sidewalks and avoid unnecessary travel at this time.

Just like the parking ban, the weather declaration “will stay in effect until it is safe to be lifted,” the town said.

Residents and visitors are strongly advised to use extreme caution when using roads and sidewalks and avoid unnecessary travel.

“Black ice can also be found on sidewalks, not just on roads, so please walk carefully,” the town said in a statement.
