One person has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle collision in Caledon.

Police say officers were called to the area of Hwy. 10 and Old School Rd. in Caledon around 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday night after receiving reports of a crash.

Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say two vehicles collided in the intersection, and the male driver of a vehicle headed northbound suffered life-threatening injuries.

Peel Paramedics said they transported the injured man to a rendezvous with an Ornge air ambulance which transported the victim to hospital.

The intersection was closed for several hours while officers investigated the cause of the crash, which is still unknown.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the OPP Caledon Detachment at (905) 584-2241.
