A 19-year-old from Vaughan is facing alcohol, drug and carless driving charges after police say she crashed into a house in Caledon on the weekend.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, police say officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a home on Landsbridge Dr. in Caledon.

When police arrived on scene they found a 19-year-old woman had driven off the road and slammed into the garage of a home.

While there was no significant structural damage to the house, police said the teen was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A spokesperson for the OPP said officers found cannabis in the vehicle and said alcohol was “prevalent.”

The driver showed signs of impairment and she was arrested.

Isabella Romani, 19, from the Woodbridge area of Vaughan has been charged with:

  • Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Operating a Vehicle with Over 80mgs of Alcohol in Blood
  • Young Driver Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero
  • Novice Driver Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero
  • Careless Driving
  • Drive with Cannabis Readily Available

None of the allegations have been proven in court. Romani is scheduled to appear in Orangeville Provincial Court in February.
