Bystanders attempted to save a man who drowned at a beach in southern Ontario over the weekend, police say.
Ontario Provincial Police said that on Sunday at around 2:39 p.m., emergency crews responded to South Beach in Grand Bend after receiving a report of an unresponsive person.
OPP said bystanders located a 67-year-old man in the water, brought him to shore and attempted life-saving measures.
Emergency medical services brought the man to the South Huron Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Further information about the incident wasn’t immediately released.
