Busy road closed to traffic due to unstable hydro pole in Mississauga

A section of a main road in east Mississauga has been closed to traffic this afternoon while crews work to fix an unstable hydro pole in the area.
Peel Regional Police posted a notice to social media that Burnhamthorpe Road East, between Fieldgate Drive and Rathburn Road/Ponytrail Drive, has been shut down to motorists until further notice.
They said cause of the closure, which took effect just after 12:30 p.m., is an unstable hydro pole.
Motorists are being told to use alternate routes.
