Busy Oakville road closing for removal of overhead railway crossing

Work on the removal of an overhead railway will result in some minor traffic headaches and a detour in Oakville neighbourhood south of Highway 403 beginning next week.

The construction work will result in the closure of Chartwell Rd., from North of Cornwall Rd. to south of Industry St. beginning next Wednesday (Apr. 19) to May 10.

The road will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Monday to Friday.

The closure is for the removal of an overhead railway crossing which will be converted to an underground infrastructure.

Drivers can take the detour route, which will be along the South Service Rd. E., Trafalgar Rd. and Cornwall Rd.
