Burlington sailor Sarah Douglas sits in eighth place heading into the final heats of the women’s Laser radial competition at the Tokyo Olympics.

In order to advance to the medal round, the 27-year-old has to stay in the top 10 sailors.

Douglas scored a 13 in her seventh race on Thursday, but it was a fifth-place finish in her second race of the day where she made her biggest mark and rocketed her up the standings.

She heads into the last two heats with a total score of 76.

Douglas will set out for her ninth race on Friday.
