Burlington woman wins $500,000 playing Instant Plinko.

Laurie O’Hara, a 58-year-old personal support worker, said she is a regular lottery player with her favourite games being instant tickets and Proline.

“When I brought my ticket to be validated at the store, the clerk told me OLG was calling,” she said when she was at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.

“It was that moment I knew I won big.”

O’Hara said it was nerve-racking when she walked into the room to participate in the chip drop on the real Plinko board.

“I felt like I was on the Price Is Right.” she said.

When the chip landed on the $500,000 prize, O’Hara couldn’t believe it.

“I called my family afterwards and told my brother he didn’t have to worry about his mortgage anymore,” she smiled.

“And I always said I’d never buy a brand-new car, but I am going to buy myself a new car on the way home today. My dogs are going to get some very special treats too. I’m going to help a lot of people with this money.”
