Burlington vandals use fire extinguisher to smash car

A car parked in a Burlington underground garage was smashed early Sunday (Oct. 30) with what investigators believe was a fire extinguisher.

Halton Regional Police the incident took place at 1 a.m. in the parking garage located on Upper Middle Rd. and Brant St.

Reports indicate a group of youths were seen in the garage causing the damage.

Damage to the car is estimated at $5,000 which includes broken windows and dented exterior paneling. As well, yellow spray powder from the canister covered the car

A spent fire extinguisher and a broken housing compartment for the device were found at the scene.

Police are still investigating and no suspect information is available at this time.
