Burlington triple lotto winner will be driving around in a black convertible

April Gunnes was a triple winner in the August 14 draw of Lotto Max.

The 58-year-old from Burlington won $64,373.20 for matching six numbers plus the bonus number to win the big prize.

The 58-year-old from Burlington won $64,373.20 for matching six numbers plus the bonus number to win the big prize.

But that’s not all. She won $126.30 on her other Lotto Max selections and $2 on Encore. The result is she is $64,501.50 today. “I was stunned – I wasn’t sure it was real!”

A children’s mental health worker, Gunnes called two of her friends right away to tell them about her big news. “They were excited and questioned if it was real,” she laughed.

The winning ticket was purchased at Hasty Market on Guelph Line in Burlington.

Gunnes plans to purchase a black convertible and share her winnings with her two closest friends.

“Knowing you’re one of the major winners is so surreal –  what are the chances,” she smiled.
