10 emergencies to be prepared for in Brampton

Through a tool on the City of Burlington’s website, residents can track the snow-clearing progress in real-time after heavy snowfalls.

The Burlington Plow Tracker enables residents to track the progress of snow-clearing operations and check which streets have been plowed, sanded or salted when a snow event has been declared.

The tool uses Automatic Vehicle Locating (AVL) technology to provide updates and track the progress of the City’s plows.

Whenever a plow passes over a road, the road on the map will change colour to let residents know that a plow is operating in the area.

Roads throughout the city will continue changing colours until all plowing has been completed.

In total, the City of Burlington maintains 1,900 km of roads and 850 km of sidewalks.

Residents who would like to make a snow-clearing request, are asked to wait 24 hours after a snowstorm has ended before contacting the City as its snow-clearing staff concentrate on primary and secondary routes before reaching residential roads.
