Burlington gardeners can try something new with Royal Botanical Gardens’ seed library

Burlington’s Royal Botanical Gardens is encouraging local residents to “Borrow, Grow, and Return!” this spring.
The RBG seed library is dedicated to connecting people to plants. They provide seeds that you borrow, grow, and then return.
If you are new to gardening, interested in growing a greater diversity of plants, or invested in supporting a community of growers, the RBG seed library will help you meet those goals.
The program focuses on herbaceous perennials, grasses, annuals, and trees and shrubs, although some food plants are also available.
Seeds are generally available only in the spring and the selection will dwindle as the seeds are lent out. So get your requests in and start growing. Ready, set, grow!
There are a pair of lists of available seeds, one containing only perennials and grasses and the other with annuals, veggies and woody perennials.

Participants can request up to 10 seed varieties. Some species go very quickly, and amounts are limited. To make sure you get some of your preferred seeds, you may request up to 10 seed varieties but only the first five available will be filled.
