Burlington Cougars thrash Pickering for second straight OJAHL victory

A five-goal outburst in the second period led the Burlington Cougars to their second straight victory in Ontario Junior A Hockey League action.

The Cougars travelled to Brantford and thrashed the 99ers 9-2 last night (Thursday).

Josh Ziliotto led the team with a hat trick and Josh Belgrave scored twice. Single markers were tallied by Thomas Lenart, Jacob Bramwell, Jack Richard and Matt Franzoi. Kyle Metson turned away 24 of 26 shots to earn the win in net.

The Cougars now have two wins and a n overtime loss early in the season, leading the West Division with five points.

They return home to Central Arena tonight to host Pickering Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Pickering is undefeated in two games so far this season.
