The City of Burlington is now accepting rental requests from residents, organizations and businesses who would like to hold fitness classes in select city parks.

Rental spots will be available in 60-minute time slots on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. until Ontario permits Halton to move into Step 2 of the province’s reopening plan.

Bookings are available in select parks and do not include Burloak Waterfront Park, LaSalle Park, Spencer Smith Park, The Beachway, Windows to the Lake locations or Civic Square at 426 Brant St.

They will be open to Burlington residents, city-based organizations and businesses.

As approved by Burlington City Council, a 20 per cent rental rate reduction will be applied to all bookings.

Residents are reminded that class size is limited to 10 people, with everyone maintaining a three-metre distance and that team sports, games or scrimmages and spectators are not permitted.

“We know people are anxious to get out and get active in the warm weather after being limited in their activity during the most recent Stay-at-Home order. While, provincial regulations still do not permit our city facilities to reopen, we can utilize the beautiful open green space we have in the city in the meantime, as a place to hold fitness classes,” said Denise Beard, Manager of Community Development.

Rental requests can be made by emailing [email protected] or by calling (905) 335-7738.
