Brother and sister from Hamilton have big plans for shared lotto winnings

A brother-sister duo from Hamilton is celebrating after winning $100,000 on a scratch ticket.
Anita Salvo Cafumo of Stoney Creek and Mario D’Oruzio from Hamilton, won while playing The Big Spin Instant game.
Cafumo and D’Oruzio describe themselves as ‘occasional’ lottery players; She prefers Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max while he favours the Instant games.
“This is our largest win,” they said in an OLG press release.
D’Oruzio discovered he had a winning ticket and called his sister right away.
“I scanned it using the OLG Lottery App and it was hard to believe,” he said.

“I asked if he was being serious about the win and everyone in the background of the call said he was,” Cafumo said. “I went to go see him right away.”
As for what the future holds, D’Oruzio said he plans to purchase some new furniture and a new bicycle while his sister plans to share with family and put some aside for her children and grandchildren.
“My family is my everything and I am so excited to share this win with them,” Cafumo said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Prospect Variety on Main Street East.
