Brooklin pounds Owen Sound to remain unbeaten at MSL Classic in Oakville

The Brooklin Lacrosse Club continues to impress at the MSL Classic with a 19-10 pounding of winless Owen Sound to go to 3-0 in the month-long MSL Classic.

Three players scored four times each to lead Brooklin, with veteran Ryan Keenan scoring once and adding nine assists for a ten-point night.

Chris Boushey opened the scoring just before the three-minute mark with an outside shot that eluded Owen Sound goaltender Nolan Clayton. Boushey had a prolific game scoring four times and adding four assists.

Rookie Jonathan Donville showed why he was worthy of being the first overall pick in the 2020 MSL Entry Draft, with four goals of his own along with three assists.

Dan Michel (four goals, one assist) Connor Kearnan (three goals, two assists) and Jake Fox (two goals, two assists) also had strong games for Brooklin.

Brooklin only led by one at the half before pulling away with seven unanswered goals in the final quarter.
Nick Damude, in his first start for Brooklin, got the win in net.

Next up at the MSL Classic is a tilt between Owen Sound and the Six Nations Chiefs on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Thursday, the Cobourg Kodiaks play the Oakville Rock, also at 8 p.m.

All games in the tournament – the first game action for the league since 2019 – are being held at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville.
