The Brooklin Lacrosse Club clinched first place in the month-long MSL Classic with a come-from-behind 6-5 win over Owen Sound last night.

Brooklin fell behind 3-0 and 4-1 before evening the match at five heading into the fourth quarter, setting up Austin Murphy’s game winner. The club is now 6-1 with one game to play, while second place Cobourg (5-3) have already completed their schedule.

Six different players scored for Brooklin in the game.

The MSL Classic is the first league action for Major Series Lacrosse players since 2019, with five of the six clubs participating in the tournament.

Brooklin finishes their schedule – and the tournament – tonight against 2-5 Oakville.

All games are being played at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville.
