Bronte is lighting up with the holiday spirit this weekend.

The annual Bronte Village Christmas Tree Lighting is taking place Friday night (Dec. 2) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the new Bronte Market Square in Oakville.

Sponsored by Ward 1 Oakville Town Councillors Sean O’Meara and Jonathan McNeice, local residents will get the chance to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus who came down from the North Pole to help get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

The special holiday event will also feature holiday caroling and warm up with a hot chocolate.

Everyone can then gather around the Bronte Market Square at 6 p.m. for the lighting of the Christmas tree.

Residents are being reminded to not park in the Denningers lot across from the square for the event.
