Police and emergency crews are on the scene in north Mississauga where a man suffering injuries was found lying on the sidewalk.

UPDATE: Man found on Mississauga street has died, investigation now a homicide.

Early reports indicate the man had been shot but this information has not been confirmed by official sources.

Details are limited at this time but Peel Regional Police say the man was found in the area of Terry Fox Way and Galesway Blvd.

Police say the man shows various signs of trauma but have not indicated specifically what type of injuries he suffered.

Investigators say they are sweeping the area looking for those who may have been involved.
