BREAKING: Mississauga Hosting ‘She The North’ Rally for US Open Champion Bianca Andreescu

Mississauga will be welcoming its very tennis star, Bianca Andreescu with a She The North rally at Celebration Square on Sunday, September 15!

The rally will celebrate the recent accomplishments of Andreescu who became the first Canadian to win a grand slam singles title after winning the U.S. Open last weekend.

Andreescu has been a resident, student and athlete in the city and began her career at the Ontario Racquet Club, which is located in Mississauga.

The day will include:

• A public rally at Mississauga Celebration Square.
• The Mayor’s presentation of the Key to the City to Bianca Andreescu.
• The unveiling of a street sign named in honour of Bianca: “Andreescu Way”.

The event will start at 4:30 pm with pre-show entertainment where DJ Andre 905 and Tej Hunjan World Percussionist Live will entertain the crowd and be hosted by Selena Singh and Mariah Sousa-Sampson.

At 5 pm the main event will kick off.

Aside from Andreescu and Mayor Bonnie Crombie, other VIP guests will be in attendance. The VIPs are still to be confirmed.

Parking is available in the underground parking lots at the Civic Centre and the Central Library.
