Breaking: Mississauga and Brampton COVID numbers in steep decline based on today’s Peel Region data

New COVID-19 numbers in Peel Region are at a months-long low today (February 16).

According to data provided by Provincial government, Peel has 154 new cases to go along with 904 recorded cases across Ontario.

Despite Peel’s lower numbers, the province-wide count may be low because of data reporting issues in Toronto which could be inaccurate. Toronto is reporting 320 new cases today.

Today’s data also shows 742 people currently being treated in Ontario hospitals for COVID-19, with 292 patients listed as being in the intensive care unit and 201 needed ventilation.

In the last 24 hours 13 people in Ontario has died as a result of the virus.

Numbers from other areas around the province include 118 in York Region, 44 in Halton Region and 37 in Hamilton.
