Charges linked to multiple incidents have been laid against a man from Mississauga after a break-and-enter north of Brampton, police say.
The break-in happened on June 1 around 7 p.m. when the OPP says someone forced their way into a home on Escarpment Side Road in Caledon.
Police say the suspect had fled by the time officers arrived, but members of the community shared images of the suspect on a community Facebook group “and encouraged neighbours to remain vigilant.”
The suspect was identified and arrested a short while later. The accused was also charged in connection to “other related occurrences in the area on this same day,” police say.
The OPP says James Fobert, 43, of Mississauga, has been charged with multiple offences, including trespassing at night, uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm, theft under $5,000, and possession break-in instruments.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the Caledon OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips may also be provided to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or visiting www.ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
When you contact Crime Stoppers you stay anonymous, never have to testify, and could receive a $2,000 reward.
